• Barbara Gittings, an early gay rights pioneer died in February of 2007.

• The famous lesbian writer Jane Rule died in November. She will be remembered for her book which became one the earliest lesbian movies, Desert Hearts.

• Jerry Falwell who blamed gays for the attacks on American on Sept. 11th, 2001 died in April 2007.
